GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER

Description:
This job is covered under the Services Contract Act (SCA) with an hourly wage of $13.69. Performs routine repairs and maintenance of plant and/or office facilities and equipment. Performs basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, plumbing, plastic or sheet metal fabrication, or associated work on plant facilities using hand and power tools. Required to troubleshoot equipment or facilities problems and report them to supervisor. Interpret blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. Performs routine inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary. Some travel may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Qualifications:
Strong ability to communicate verbal and written, multi task, understand written as well verbal communications, and work with management as well other site partners. Good computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft word, Microsoft excel. Understanding of general maintenance job aspects. High school diploma or equivalent and two years of operations and support maintenance.
