SUMMARY:  The Systems Administrator III is responsible for technical design, new projects, and implementation of a variety of systems and applications.  This position is an expert in a number of mission-critical systems technology platforms, and takes the lead in the support of those platforms.  

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  None

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

-          Lead the design process for enterprise solutions, ensuring they meet availability, scalability, security, and business continuity goals

-          Project Management and technical implementations of complex multi-site computing environments and solutions

-          Administer solution selection processes including requirements gathering, leading the RFP/RFI process, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiation

-          Problem resolution in complex cross-platform environments. Ability to resolve nearly all problems independently. Assists other team members with problem resolution.

-          Monitor emerging technology developments and identify opportunities for improvement. Leads the introduction of new technologies to the team.

-          Assist in the formulation, recommendation, documentation and enforcement of company IST policies, directions, best practices and support procedures

-          Automation and scripting of systems tasks

-          Act as a mentor and subject matter expert for Systems Administrator II staff members and other IST resources

 

OTHER NECESSARY FUNCTIONS:

-          Off hours support as required.

-          Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by GMCR and the department.

-          Performs other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:


-          Bachelors degree and 7 or more years experience in the Information Technology industry, specifically in a Systems Administration role in a complex multi-site systems environment.

-          5 years experience leading large technical projects and implementations

-          Exceptional crisis management and problem solving skills and the demonstrated ability to make sound technology and business decisions

-          Authoritative expertise in the following areas: Storage (NetApp preferred), Business Continuity,  Data Center Infrastructure, Performance Monitoring and Analysis

-          Experience with project management including identification and implementation of best practices

-          Ability to uphold Safety standards, participates in Continuous Process Improvement on the job, and follows our Manufacturing best practices.

-          Ability to get along with others, work well in a team, be punctual, and follow instructions.

-          Ability to follow GMCR policies and procedures as well as our Operating principles.

-          Ability to travel as required

-          Ability to work after business hours (nights and weekends) as required

  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

-          Predominately sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (67% - 100% of the workday).

-          Must be able to occasionally lift and move equipment up to 75 lbs.

-  Occasional travel between sites
