WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?
This position is responsible for leading the Individual Annuities product development program for IT.  These responsibilities will include the management of projects within the program, resource management and business relationships. Additionally, this role will drive program direction, priorities, timelines, resources, financials and issue resolution.  It will require working with all levels of the organization across business and technology functions. This role is central for maintaining the "IT to business" relationship and the success of the overall program.  The role will leverage existing Project Management Methodology with flexibility to introduce different methodologies to support dynamic business goals. 
 
Additional Description: Manages the development, testing, and implementation of each project within the program to meet project commitment dates. Ensures that teams work with our business partners and IT to gather requirements, work existing related issues, and manage contention with the program across projects, enhancements, and production support work and shared applications.  This role will provide program communication to the program stakeholders in the business and IT.  This role will also make recommendations to leverage our vendor partnerships strategies to achieve the program delivery commitments.  The Program Manager is accountable to provide status reports and other related communications to the overall program.  Additionally, this role may require management of multiple project managers to support the overall initiatives. The role requires effective leadership in a matrixed organizational environment and ability to influence without direct authority.  The role requires development of productive working relationships with program/project team members and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
 
Project Management: Manages implementation at the program level, including planning and required project documentation and deliverables (scope, detailed design, testing, and implementation).  This role will be an escalation point for projects within the program or for those projects that have a contention or issue from other portfolios. 
 
IT Leadership: Provides guidance to the IT team and management on recommendations for the program strategy and implementation recommendations.
 
Requirements WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, systems development, or equivalent field experience in systems implementation required 
  • Strong Project Management skills and demonstrated experience managing to milestones and delivery dates is essential 
  • 6+ years experience implementing large-scale, business critical applications in an enterprise environment
  • PMI Certification preferred
  • Must demonstrate solid management skills related to program management tasks (requirement gathering, cross functional team management, issue resolution, etc.) 
  • Ability to create and lead a team in all activities related to developing and delivering solutions that align with the business requirements
  • Create open environment conducive to freely sharing information and ideas
  • Demonstrated ability in planning and deploying product implementations through application of formal project controls
  • Demonstrated ability to direct project activities, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Hands-on and results-oriented approach
