Purpose of the Job/Principal Responsibilities:
An Admissions Advisor works diligently to contact and enroll students in degree and certificate programs. They complete all goals and deadlines successfully within the timeframe set for them. Communicate with supervisor regarding student enrollment status and troubleshoot for any problems with leads. The Admissions Advisor is responsible for the student from time of enrollment through the first week of classes. These responsibilities include: enrolling the student, collecting all essential documents, setting a registration appointment and continual contact with the student until the end of drop/add week, as well as assisting the team financial aid officer in the collection of the FA documents that may be required for verification
Typical activities for an Admissions Advisor include:
To achieve performance standards as set up by the Director of Admissions, Executive Director of Admissions and the VP of Admissions
To know, maintain, adhere to, and comply with all appropriate corporate, state and federal policies for Admissions.
To ensure the tasks required to enroll students in Kaplan University are carried out employing ethics and integrity that are above reproach.
To ensure qualitative and quantitative objectives are achieved throughout the Admissions Process.
To ensure adequate knowledge of programs offered, and take responsibility for keeping current with program changes as well as new programs offered.
To maintain and achieve daily, weekly, and monthly metrics
To participate in programs for self-improvement and professional development.
To provide accurate reports relating to individual recruitment effectiveness, tracking logs.
To make certain prospective students have realistic expectations regarding their course of study by adhering strictly to established standards for Admissions.
To attend and participate in all Admissions meetings and training sessions for which your attendance is required.
To facilitate interdepartmental communications between Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Services and Academics for the purpose of enhancing the Admissions Process and creating a positive team oriented atmosphere between all departments.
To make recommendations to the Associate Director or the Director of Admissions regarding course offerings or operational issues in the interest of enhancing the Admissions Process.
To ensure that adequate, accurate and timely student records are created during the Admissions Process and are forwarded to other departments as appropriate.
To ask for student referrals.
To always convey only accurate, independently verifiable information in the proper context to enable applicants to make a well-informed enrollment decision.
Attend required training/help sessions
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures
Assist other members of the Admissions Department in routine and occasional activities as defined by your supervisor
To perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Admissions, Director of Admissions, Executive Director of Admissions or the VP of Admissions.
Measurement of Success:
Admissions Advisors will be evaluated based on (a) their ability to meet the weekly minimum standards to ensure that advisors are on track to meet the minimum requirements of the position. (b) ability to learn and adhere to required and updated processes, and follow them productively; (c) ability to work effectively on a team, both within and across Kaplan University departments; and (d) attitude and enthusiasm;(e)

Experience Required:
Bachelors’ degree preferred; Associates Degree required or must be currently enrolled in accredited Bachelors degree program.
3 yrs of Military and a minimum of 2 years’ sales experience. May accept 5 yrs experience in high end sales in lieu of military experience
Must have a discharge other than dishonorable. (DD214 required)
Must prove ability to use Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn other computer systems
Position Requirements /Scope of the Job/ Skills Required:
Must be able to work some evening and weekend shifts
Ability to communicate accurately and positively by telephone, e-mail, and other media to students and internal customers
Ability to follow processes, work effectively on a team, and maintain a positive attitude
