Position Summary: Please note that the previously posted title for this role has changed from Cost Sharing Analyst to Manager of Sponsored Research Accounting.
Princeton University has an opening for a Manager of Sponsored Research Accounting in its Sponsored Research Accounting department within the Treasurer's Office. This role is responsible for ensuring that all mandatory and voluntary committed cost sharing within all sponsored research grants is properly classified and tracked within the University. This position will have regular partnerships with all Sponsored Research Analysts, Office of Research and Project Administration (ORPA), Department Managers and will be responsible for answering questions from faculty principal investigators (PIs) and department managers regarding the proper procedures for cost sharing. This role participates in the identification of training gaps and develops/delivers training sessions. This position will also work towards developing a tracking system, and partnering with University financial systems. Special projects as required.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business and 4 - 6 years of relevant work experience. This is a highly visible role and therefore requires excellent interpersonal skills to deal with all levels of faculty and staff throughout the University. Prior experience creating training modules and facilitating the groups is essential. The successful candidate must have the ability to understand and apply complex federal regulations within a University environment, business processes and risks and controls. Strong accounting and data analysis, quantitative analytical planning, verbal and written interpersonal skills. Project management skills are a must, as is the demonstrated ability to create and develop new procedures and/or processes. Projects will typically require the ability to use University Financial Systems, and advanced excel spreadsheets. The successful candidate must have proven ability to interpret complex data with respect to regulations and policies, and demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive confidential information with discretion and tact. Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
