Job Summary:
Under immediate supervision, the ideal candidate for this position is responsible for various duties within a section of the home office underwriting function of our Medical Stop Loss department. He/she will be responsible for the following:
Provides basic consultation to field underwriters
Administers and monitors underwriting rules and guidelines
Contributes to product development
Participates on assigned project teams
Contributes to process improvement
Assists in performing underwriting technical reviews.
Interacts directly with Producers and Business Development Manager
Communicates detailed information clearly and concisely via email and phone with internal and external customers
Reviews request for proposals to determine accuracy and completeness of information provided
Assists with account financial analysis
Approves or declines for quote review in alignment with underwriting guidelines, quote strategy and target market
In order to meet the needs of our clients, the ideal candidate must be able to work in a high volume, deadline oriented environment . Some college preferred. Previous Health Insurance industry experience out of Underwriting or Claims a plus but will consider other insurance industry experience. Strong Microsoft office skills required with strengths in Excel required. Previous experience working in a team environment preferred. Strong written communication skills required.
