Job Description 

Responsible for leading the in-house work force for Comcast cable systems, will be responsible for developing and execute a manpower budget that drives operational efficiency while achieving the highest customer service standards.

May perform any or all of the following duties:
Develops and implements technical operations strategies in the video, high speed internet and digital phone product lines that ensure business plan success. Develops a team ensuring the competence and continuity of qualified staff through the implementation of processes that will help in selection, training and development, appraisal and motivation techniques. Effectively lead all levels of a technical team, including front line technicians and leadership staff. Develops own tactical implementation and management of the annual budget and technical operations plans including contract labor and capitalization strategies for System. Works with local & regional technical operations teams to successfully launch new competitive products/services in assigned markets. Provide leadership and direction to the System's key operating leaders and collaborate with all functional departments to ensure effective operation as well as attainment of profitability and growth objectives. Establish procedures and policies that organize field activities to optimize resources in the most efficient means possible with career growth programs. Analyze technical operations, general business, and administrative performance to obtain customer satisfaction, system effectiveness and profitability. Provide detailed manpower analyses and develop plans to offset variances. Review and analyze technical operations budget performance to determine the trends in and the effectiveness of various activities within the system/region. Reduce subscriber and new product churn by improving customer care and retention practices within technical operations team. Assess and implement "best practices" defined across region and industry. Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
 

Job Requirements 

-Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, business or Information Technologies; or equivalent related degree or a combination of education and work experience.
  • 10 years progressively responsible experience in large CATV Telecommunications Field Operations or Engineering Management (Field Operations and Engineering experienced preferred).
  • 10 Years manager level experience.
  • Experience with leading multiple locations/operations in large cable systems (over 100k subs) in urban and suburban areas desirable.
  • Experience with advanced cable services, e.g. digital cable/internet services essential, VOD, CDV, Digital Simulcast, Enhanced Basic, etc.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and a strong passion for their job.
  • Ability to work well in a process-oriented team environment.
  • Strong project management experience involving complex multi-disciplined tasks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, municipal officials and agencies, and senior company management.
  • Solid PC skills including Microsoft suite i.e., excel, access, and project management software.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
