This position will be located in Harris, NY
Principal Responsibilities
- Research and respond to all requests, internally and externally, to support operations and ensure prompt account resolution.
- Retrieve and forward requested records and information, including medical records, insurance policy information, remittance advice, and itemized statements, to appropriate parties.
- Access and modify account records in the appropriate systems.
- Communicate with appropriate parties (hospital staff, patients, Account Manager) to ensure prompt account resolution.
- Analyze, distribute, and follow-up on special requests and adjustments with hospital personnel.
- Process correspondences received and work or count correspondences to operations center.
- Maintain knowledge of functional area and company policies and procedures.
- Provide feedback to management concerning possible problems or areas of improvement.
- Make recommendations to implement improved processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Previous medical customer service experience preferred.
- Local or state certifications preferred (i.e., CPAR, CPAT, etc.).
- Understanding of NCO's policies and procedures.
- Proficient personal computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge and understanding of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines.
- Ability to uphold the highest level of confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team fostered environment.
- Ability to work in multi-tasked environment.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work.
- Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule.
