Job Overview

Plexus is currently seeking a Product Services Development Project Manager to drive technically challenging projects in a fast-paced and customer diversified environment. This Project Manager will lead project teams that perform development within the disciplines of functional test, in-circuit test, test strategy, PCB, and DFX (design for Excellence). Projects can span any variety of technologies including RF, fluidics/pneumatics, robotics, vision systems, instrumentation, automation, industrialization, ergonomics, and rapid global deployment.


Responsibilities

Customer Management Expectations



-Serves as the customer�s primary point of contact and manages customer expectations in regards to project team performance, deliverables, and schedule to ensure a successful project and customer satisfaction.

-Responsible for providing the customer with written status reports as defined by the Plexus TG business unit, or as required by the customer, to inform the customer of schedule, budget, and risk issues.

-Responsible for ensuring clear and timely communication of project scope changes prior to performing activities to ensure contractual agreement with the customer.



Project Management Expectations



-Responsible for creation and ownership of the project proposal, which includes the project plan, schedule, budget, contract, assumptions, and for presenting and driving the proposal to closure with the customer.

-Responsible for managing changes in project scope, schedule, unit cost and the contract, and communicating these changes to the customer in a timely manner.

Facilitate customer and team meetings to ensure schedule, budget and customer expectations are met.

-Responsible for the timely allocation of human resources and equipment required by the project to assure project schedule and financial success.

-Responsible for the selection, and ultimate performance, of third party suppliers and sub-contractors required to execute the project plan.



-Business Development Expectations



-Maintains knowledge and understanding of Plexus' standard contractual agreements as well as customer specific contracts to ensure adherence to project contracts and confidentiality agreements.

-Participate in the new business development process including initial customer meetings, capabilities presentations, technical and business discussions to win new business.

-Provide input on feasibility, cost, schedules, capabilities, resource availability, and contractual obligations for proposal development to ensure competitive estimates to customers.

-Assess priority of new projects with input from directors and functional managers to ensure appropriate staffing, that projects are challenging, and that projects are consistent with Plexus objectives.

-Responsible for working with existing customers to solicit and secure additional work through business development activities and develop additional contacts, both horizontally and vertically within the customer.

-Participates in the creation of opportunity plans during the new business development process to identify strategies required.



Personnel Management Expectations



-Work with functional managers and other project managers, with oversight from the director of project management and director of engineering, to assign the project team members in a manner that assures adequate leadership, experience, and technical expertise are provided to all projects.

-Assist functional managers with personnel issues by providing timely feedback regarding team member performance to ensure team members are meeting expectations and are comfortable performing their tasks.

-Maintains knowledge and understanding of Plexus' standard quality policies and procedures, as well as customer specific quality requirements to ensure the project complies with all quality requirements and to assure customer satisfaction.

-Instills and reinforces the Plexus culture and fosters positive change as part of daily activities within the project teams.

-Produce an acceptable quantity of work in a timely manner.

-Perform other tasks as assigned by management.



job Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Must possess a Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field.

- Minimum of 5 years electronics manufacturing industry experience.

-Must possess a general understanding of all disciplines and experience in at least one discipline (e.g. functional test, in-circuit test, test strategy, PCB, and DFX (design for Excellence).

-Must possess good project management skills and knowledge of management principles.

-Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.

-Must possess team leadership skills and strong team building skills

-Possess strong organization, verbal & written communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

-Ability to handle demanding schedules including travel to customer sites.

-Possess conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

-All candidates must have legal authorization to permanently live and work in the United States without visa or employer sponsorship
