What's the "catch?" You need to be 100% dedicated to mentoring our current staff, and your past experience should reflect a proven ability to do so. In this role you will work closely with the IT Manager facilitating project implementation by developing high level plans and then working with IT Team members on their implementation.
Projects include centralized authentication, enterprise level storage, disaster recovery/backups, automated workstation management and inventorying, developing gui-based administrative tools, and general infrastructure improvements/redesigns including but not limited to email systems, networking, and systems monitoring.
Mentoring and training
- Project planning/Implementation with a focus on automation and streamlining of procedures/systems, including migration from Linux to Windows systems
- Windows/Linux integration using Active Directory
- Responsible for planning out major upgrades to office infrastructure.
- Provide Enterprise-level management of user workstations, including automated software deployment and user rights management. This includes research and design of these systems.
- Scripting using Windows, Linux shell, Perl, PHP
- Database administration as needed
- Network Engineering: Build/manage Linux-based networking equipment, including routers, proxies, firewalls and vpn servers.
- Experience with enterprise wi-fi a plus.
- Systems security and monitoring
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Systems Administrator, with 5-7 years experience in both Linux and Windows environments. Strong network and scripting/programming experience desired. Demonstrated training/mentoring experience is a plus. BS in IT related field preferred, but comparable work experience will be considered.
