Move* is currently looking for a talented individual to join our team in our Westlake Village, CA office in the role of Senior Software Engineer/Database Engineer. 

**Local Candidates ONLY.  We do not offer relocation.  This position is an ON-SITE, FULL-TIME position only.  We do not sponsor H1 B Visa's**

Responsibilities:

This is a senior level position primarily accountable for designing and developing database schema and interfaces to the database.  The candidate will be involved in various projects and responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining SQL Server databases in an n-tier environment.  Additionally,this candidate must also be able to assist with application development as department needs necessitate.  The duties will include the following tasks:

  • Perform logical and physical database designs.
  • Develop SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions for n-tier applications.
  • Setup and administers database development environments.
  • Assisting with development of middle-tier components for high volume data systems.
  • Follow database standards, participates in code and design reviews.
  • Reviews specifications and provides time estimates on the development of projects and features.
  • Conduct code review.
  • Mentors other database engineers.
  • Write documentations for database environments.
  • Support software engineers in the entirety of the systems development life cycle.
  • Interact with inter-departmental personnel.
  • Perform some database administration tasks.
  • Develop SQL tasks and DTS packages (SSIS).

Requirements:

  • BA in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5+ years of commercial experience in developing non-trivial middle-tier components for high volume data systems or applications. 
  • 5+ years of experience in SQL Server database development and administration.
  • Solid understanding of SQL Server Architecture (SQL Server 2000/2005).
  • Experience in designing database schemas.
  • Experience in creating SQL statements, stored procedures, functions, triggers.
  • Experience in XML developing.
  • Experience in designing Data Mart and OLAP structures.
  • Knowledge of ETL tools.
  • Experienced in developing with the .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.x  (ASP.NET, C#) .
  • Solid understanding of OOP, Web Services, Remoting, Windows Services, UML, SOAP.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and technical documentation skills.
  • Familiar with SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Experience in query optimization and tuning.
  • Knowledge and experience in administration of SQL Server database environments (optimization, tuning, backup, recovery).
  • Knowledge of SQL DTS.
  • Knowledge of Windows NT operating systems.
  • Knowledge of Oracle is desirable.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and Windows Clustering is desirable.
  • Knowledge of SQL 2005 features: SSIS,  Service Broker, synonym, schema, exception handling.
