Job Description 

This Retail Mgr position will manage front of the house restaurant operations at the John G. Shedd Aquarium. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, the ability to train and communicate expectations effectively with the staff. We are seeking candidates with successful experience managing in fast paced restaurants. A bachelors degree in hospitality would be a plus.



Position Summary:

Maintains food quality and customer service in a cash handling retail food operation that includes branded concepts, in-house formats and signature designs. May assume GM's responsibilities and authority in his/her absence. Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the financial/HR functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.

Basic Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or GED

Basic Management/Supervisory Experience Required:

1 year of lead/supervisory/management experience

Basic Functional Experience Required:

1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations. You may substitute 1 additional year of experience for each year of education below the basic requirement above as long as you possess a high-school diploma or GED.Position Posting Title: Manager 2 - Retail
