Vice President - Operations Manager

 The successful candidate must have a proven track record in managing large teams of operations staff. They must have knowledge of global and U.S. securities markets and have experience supporting new business/business growth and creating operational capacity. Additionally, they must partner effectively with senior business heads, technology, finance, credit and risk and with the industry to drive the change that is required to become more efficient and more controlled. 
 

Requirements

• Demonstrated strong product knowledge; a thorough understanding of the transaction cycle around these products, systems and platforms and the associated regulatory requirements.
• Working knowledge of market regulations and standard industry processes
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills including taking the initiative to drive change
• Strong relationship management, influence management and partnership with the Product, Technology and Operations.
• Large scale project and program management, demonstrated track record of large project delivery.
• Through knowledge of the competition and market needs, provide forward thinking ideas on product development direction.
• Strategic thinking coupled with practical execution- See the big picture and ensure that specific actions are in place to deliver the agenda.
• Candidate must have a control focused agenda, and a thorough understanding of operational risk.
• Review key metrics to measure workflow capacity, system efficiency and effectiveness of existing controls
• Act as subject matter expert on new business initiatives, technology implementations and issue resolutions
• Anticipate issues and aggressively drive initiatives to ensure results.
• Serve as an escalation point to all relevant parties.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to include the ability to communicate strategic messages clearly and consistently with the team, making linkages to individual goals and accomplishments.
• Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate staff.
• Ability to represent JPMorgan on industry bodies and forums.
• BA required, advanced degree considered a plus.
• Flexibility to travel, as required.
