A well-established production research lab in Sacramento, CA is seeking an individual who has experience in programming and operating the Hamilton Starlet, a high precision pipetting unit. In conjunction with the operation of this device, the person would work as an Associate Scientist in this lab focused in extraction-based pipetting and analysis for pharmacokinetic and toxicokinetic studies. Kelly Services full-time employees enjoy weekly pay and an outstanding benefits package that includes: - Health (medical, dental and prescription) insurance - 401 (k), Direct Deposit - Vacation and holiday package - Numerous Employee Discounts Full Time Temp to Permanent position Required Qualifications: ' BS/BA degree in Life Science ' 1-2 years experience in clinical or manufacturing laboratory ' Experience with programming, operating, and validating the Hamilton STARlet pipetting workstation system ' Experience and knowledge in various types of pipettors (i.e. fixed volume, adjustable air displacement, positive displacement, microdispensers, etc) and other liquid handling tools Responsibilities include: ' Program Hamilton STARlet system to aliquot high volume of samples in a high throughput environment ' Perform extraction of incoming samples of biological complexes in preparation for qualitative and quantitative analysis ' Prepare and conduct Protein Crashes, Liquid to Liquid, and Solid Phase Extractions ' Pipette and aliquot precise accurate samples (i.e. through Hamilton STARlet) as well as non-precise sample amounts (i.e. Tomtec Quadra 3) ' Analyze extractions in Mass Spectrometer, utilizing various models and platforms as necessary ' Evaluate assay runs for acceptability by following QC policy ' Assess total performance of QC on instruments; Troubleshoot the cause of any deviation ' Perform Preventative Maintenance, Startups, and Calibrations of instrumentation ' Assist in training of new staff on procedures and instrumentation ' Comply with quality, regulatory and safety requirements Required Skills: ' Good organizational skills and work ethic ' Excellent oral and written communication skills ' Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, ability to work with them and perform basic troubleshooting ' Ability to follow established test procedures ' Knowledge of GMP and GLP ' Good computer skills in Word, Excel ' Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload Apply now and submit your resume for consideration.
