Job Description: CCS is looking for a Registered Nurse to service the Greater Detroit Metropolitan Area.Summary:The Nurse Clinician is responsible for providing specialized infusion therapies and professional nursing services to patients and caregivers at home or in alternate settings.Major Responsibilities:Provides direct and indirect skilled nursing care to patients based on a modified primary nursing approach. Such provision of care includes, but is not limited to:−Patient assessment, clinical and environmental−Patient and caregiver teaching−Coordination of related services−Assist R.N. in the development and revision of the plan of care/plan of treatment−Practical nursing care−Implementation of physician orders−Monitoring of patient response−Psycho social supportCompletes all required patient care documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner, according to internal and external regulatory requirementsCommunicates with service center personnel, physicians and other health care providers to assure the quality and continuity of patient carePlans daily work activities in accordance with patient needs, assuming on-call responsibility and extended patient related travel as required by the service areaTakes professional responsibility for self-protection during required work in potential hazardous situations (i.e. handling of cytotoxic agents, handling of blood and bodily fluids)Represents self in a professional and ethical manner at all times, complying with all applicable company policy and proceduresParticipates in the activities of the Quality Assurance ProgramAttends scheduled patient care conferences, inservices, departmental meetings, etc., as requestedTakes responsibility for maintaining all employment requirements, such as completion of orientation, clinical competence, excellent venous access skills, professional licensure, certifications, health requirements, etcParticipates in the orientation of other nurse clinicians or service center personnel as requestedSupports the marketing efforts of the company by assisting the sales force and providing educational programs to referral sources, as requestedAugments the duties of the Nurse Manager, as requestedAdheres to all CCS Policies, Procedures, and Standards of Conduct covered during initial orientation and referenced in branch handbooks, guides and manualsAttends mandatory annual inservices that are required by current position heldReports to the appropriate manager(s) any known or suspected violations of policies and procedures, regulations or standards of conductPerforms other duties as assigned
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in states included in service area. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; B.S.N. preferred, or as required by state law. A minimum of two years of current experience in a specialty involving infusion therapy including patient assessment skills, venous access skills and emergency patient care. Previous specialized home health care experience recommended. CPR certification required; PICC certification desirable. Pediatric experience is recommended. Active professional affiliations and national certification in related clinical specialty desirable. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Must be able to assume a flexible work schedule.
