Technology North America LLC in Troy, MI. Lead CAE projects, conduct crash, static, & dynamic FEA for automotive interior systems (IP, Door & Center Console) as well as dsgn & optimize systems for passive safety. Teamwork & coord'n w/ internal & external dvlpmt & testing dept. Predict & solve complex material behaviors, mechanism response & system response using FEA, hand calculations & other analytical techniques. Perform correlation studies. Dvlp material models for plastics, metals & fabrics. Implmt FMVSS, IIHS & ECR regs as reqd for parts dsgnd. Resp for budgeting, project planning, execution, reducing product dvlpmt costs & time. Improve safety, comfort, & durability of systems using CAE tools. Travel to Germany, South Carolina & Mexico on short notice for 4 or more weeks. Work w/ safety dept Germany on Global projects & dvlp & maintain working relationship between both teams. Train & lead new FEA engrs co.'s proprietary CAE Stds & Simulation techniques. Maintain & manage CAE s/wares & h/wares. Min. Req. Master's deg in Mechanical/ Biomechanical Engg or related field (or foreign equiv.) together w/ 3 yrs exp. as FEA Engr, Advanced Mechanical Engr, or Project Engr w/ solid mechanics & biomechanics exp., to incl exp. in CAE/FEA s/ware (LS-Dyna, Abaqus, Nastran, Hyperworks), Project Mgmt, FEA s/ware installation & mgmt using UNIX & LINUX; exp in FEA of plastics & wrapped parts; exp. simulating & correlating complex materials, mechanisms & system behaviors; exp. In managing & leading global FEA team; exp. in dealing w/ FORD, GM , Chrysler & other OEM's. Also, 6 mos exp. in mfg of interior & exterior plastic parts is required.
