Ministry Health Care's long history of serving Wisconsin continues with Saint Clare's Hospital in Weston, which opened in 2005 to anchor the Weston Regional Medical Center Campus, just minutes from Wausau on Highway 29. Saint Clare's hospital is a state of the art hospital just outside of Wausau, WI. The Operating Room has 8 suites with a variety of surgeries occurring each day. The Peri-Anesthesia Staff Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who is responsible for the direct and/or indirect total nursing care of patients during Peri-Anesthesia interventions. This R.N. independently provides safe and effective nursing care for the patient population. This is the expected level of professional practice at Saint Clare's Hospital. The incumbent will: - Conduct timely and comprehensive assessments of the patient and family in order to develop an outcome-focused plan of care.
- Collaborate with patient, family, physicians and colleagues in the development of the plan of care.
- Evaluate the patient's response to the plan of care, making modifications to achieve identified outcomes and targeted LOS.
- Coordinate care of the patient, assuring patient care needs are met.
- Take action to see that patient receives the right care at the right time.
- Develop and discusses the plan of care with the patient and/or family collaboratively.
- Demonstrate safe practice in the administration of medications, treatments and use of equipment.
- Identify and report unsafe practices in a proactive manner in order to prevent safety events.
- Respond to and resolves customer complaints.
This position will be 40 hours per week. Position will be Mon - Fri from 1600 - 2400. There is no on call for this position
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 1 Year of nursing experience is required
- Peri-Anesthesia nursing experience is prefered
- Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) licensure or eligible to obtain is required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within 1 year of hire.
