Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resource Generalist is responsible for human resource activities supporting approximately 700 hourly and salaried associates in a union free environment. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: counseling and problem solving, hourly, professional and college recruitment, interviewing and hiring of associates, policy interpretation, compensation administration, assisting with training, AAP, conducting internal investigations, associate issues, community involvement, legal compliance with all state and federal employment laws, community support activities, and overall adherence to Nestlé policies and procedures. In addition this position provides hands on HR generalist support and assists in day-to-day HR activities such as: associate relations, guidance and counseling to associates, associate development, and assessing, developing and facilitating training sessions as needed.
A Bachelor's (BA or BS) in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field. Minimum 2 years experience in Human Resources/Associate Relations. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Proven communication (written and verbal), problem solving, and decision-making skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Human Resource experience should include familiarity with and experience in recruitment, associate relations, associate communications, and leave of absence laws. Knowledge of basic HR law and applications desired. Knowledge of collaborative work systems and techniques to maintain union-free facilities preferred. Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze data. Strong grasp of Federal & State Employment Laws. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook); Experience with SAP preferred. Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines. Must be detail-oriented. Must be able to work with all levels of associates and management within the organization. Must be flexible and able to work all shifts.
