May perform one or more of the following:
Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products.
May develop a range of products including device drivers, patches, operating system modifications, graphics modules, etc.
Analyzes, programs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer programs.
Using current programming languages and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications.
Plans and directs studies of potential electronic data processing applications.
Develops and installs programs to support general business applications running on PCs.
Designs web pages, including graphics, animation, and functionality; develops infrastructure and applications related to pages.
May make hardware or software purchasing recommendations regarding web development.
All other duties as assigned.
The position is to provide development and support for new and existing web based applications. The position will require time management skills to balance project tasks and operational tasks. The primary focus of this position is the development and migration of the existing Oracle Mid Tier applications to a .NET environment. The developer will meet with IT Managers, Technical Project Managers, Client Analysts, and business partners to gather all requirements and develop/modify applications to meet the new .NET environment. Upon completion, the candidate will document all relevant information to be used for continued support and maintenance.

Core Competence Required

The core competence as defined by ACS for the .NET Developer (Mid Range) includes development, deployment and administration of the following technologies:

Web Server Administration
  • IIS 6/7
  • Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server experience would be helpful.

    Development
  • Web Development:
    o Experience with ASP.NET (C# & VB.NET)
    o Experience with Visual Studio .Net 2005/2008
    o Experience with Team Foundation Server 2008
    o Experience with JavaScript
    o Experience with AJAX
    o Experience with XHTML
    o Experience with XML
    o Experience with Web Services
    o Experience with JAVA would be helpful.

  • SQL Server Development:
    o Experience with MS SQL Server Management Studio.
    o Experience with T-SQL Scripting Language, SQL Tables, Views, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Logins, Security, and Permissions.
    o Experience with SQL DTS Packages, SQL Agent Jobs, Migration of DTS Packages, and SSIS Packages, and Backup Plans and Utilities.
  • Oracle Development:
    o Experience with PL-SQL Scripting Language, Tables, Views, Stored Procedures, Logins, Security, and Permissions.

    Other Skills
  • Technical knowledge in Microsoft .NET web based solution and development using .NET Framework.
  • SQL Server 2005+ skills helpful.
  • Oracle 8+ skills helpful.
  • MS Visio/Project skills helpful.
  • Direct and coordinate activities related to the design, development, and implementation of web-based applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC – CMMI, SCRUM, Agile, RAD).
  • Self managed and able to work in a dynamic atmosphere.
  • Strong understanding of project management.
  • Must be able to communicate well with customer, gather requirements, document work, and work on several projects at same time.

    Education and Typical Years Experience:
  • 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or Equivalent.
    OR
  • At least 5 years of relevant experiences in the analysis, design, implementation and post implementation support of medium to large complex applications.
    AND
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant working experiences as a Mid Range .NET Developer using Microsoft .NET technologies.

    Duties for .NET Developer (Mid Range)

    Resulting out of the core competence, the following outlines the duties required for the NET Developer (Mid Range):

  • Development and migration of Oracle Mid Tier applications to a .NET environment seamlessly – ensuring no downtime.
  • Work with end users and team members to meet new requests for web/database applications using existing standards defined by ACS.
  • Maintenance of existing web based applications.
  • Review current status of web based applications and prepare recommendations for improvements.
  • Plan, conduct, and coordinate business programming applications activities
  • Reporting of tasks and accomplishments to appropriate manager or lead.
  • Assist appropriate manager or lead as needed.
  • Rotational off hour support is required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

    .NET Developer (Mid Range) Contractual Duties

    .NET Developer (Mid Range) will interact with team/department members and customers in a courteous and professional manner with respect for all nationalities, cultures and management levels.Sensitivity to all genders is required.Failure to interact correctly with clients in a professional manner in regards to culture, race and gender will be grounds for immediate termination.

    Dress code is business casual which includes a wide range of clothing, but ACS requires the dress to be non offensive and not sexually suggestive.
