The Communication Technician performs the necessary functions to promote and maintain a courteous, well organized, and efficient communications center in accordance with Transfer Center Department policies and procedures.The Transfer Center Communication Center Technician will actively participate in the following:a.Department Committeesb.Department Development activities and programsc.Public relations activitiesd.Quality assurance and improvement activities and programse.Public Education Activitiesf.Departmental continuing education programs and activities.CHRISTUS Health is committed to providing meaningful benefits for you and your family and to sharing with you the prosperity you help create. Job Requirements
1. Certification:Emergency Medical Technician certification by the Texas Department of Health is preferred.
2. Experience: Two years of emergency communications and dispatch experience is preferred. A geographical knowledge of Southeast Texas is preferred. Knowledge of pre-hospital care organizations and practices in SoutheastTexas is preferred.
Other: Pass CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital computer competence within 4 weeks of employment. Completion of the Transfer Center dispatch competency evaluation.
5. Continuing Education:Complete all annual CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital competencies; actively participate and complete all annual
annual Transfer Center communication technician knowledge and skills validation requirements. Maintains all
required certification and licenses.
