Linux Administration Engineer - Globally Utilized Platform

For the engineer that loves to tinker with Linux and possesses and almost insane fondness for fast-paced, seat-of-your-pants troubleshooting and crisis management this role administering the data center of our globally utilized platform will keep you technically challenged and energized. Our current 50 server production environment has been growing dramatically and we need your proven experience to help develop best practices for systems monitoring and management as we continue our growth.

Based in our Menlo Park, Ca headquarters you will utilize your sharp Linux administration skills to ensure our live production environment remains at peak performance and availability. Your background automating processes, monitoring systems, troubleshooting and being responsible for critical live systems will lay the foundation for your success. Experience with shell scripting, Perl, PHP, Python or C will add to your candidacy as will a working knowledge of Cisco, TCP/IP, Apache and PostgreSQL applicaitons. Prior admin experience in high growth production environments will move your resume to the top of the pile. In return for your engineering prowess you will be granted the responsibility of administering oDesk's production infrastructure and web presence which is critical to our success and growth.
