Organization Objective/Purpose:

Insight and Loyalty is Schwab's hub for client-centric information
and insights. The Client Data team, part of Insight & Loyalty,
provides cross-enterprise leadership and business stewardship of all
clients' core identity data. We manage the quality and integration
of client data for accuracy, consistency, and optimal client
experience; and ensure appropriate views of the client's relationship
are presented to Schwab staff at all affiliates and to the client,
while complying with corporate policy, regulatory, and privacy
requirements.

Brief Description of Role:


As a Senior Manager, you will be very strategic in
approach, while remaining very tactical with regards to user support
and data analysis. As one of three individual contributors on the
team, you will:

  • Champion data quality and information
    management best practices with headquarters and field partners.
    Actively seek impactful ways to improve the client
    experience and business results through better stewardship and
    use of client data.
  • Collaborate with business partners, technology teams, and
    operations teams to create strategies and recommendations that
    will improve client data management. Develop business cases
    to help prioritize recommendations and secure resources to
    implement.
  • Act as business leader for client data projects, from the
    development of business requirements through successful
    implementation, including user acceptance testing and the
    creation of documentation, training and communications. Lead
    and/or support cross-functional project teams, with members
    from technology, operations, and business groups (including
    front-line teams). Develop strong working relationships with
    key stakeholders to ensure overall success.
  • Ensure projects are moving forward as planned. Ensure risks
    and issues are identified early and addressed appropriately.
    As needed, escalate significant issues, recommend action
    plans, and involve stakeholders to develop win-win solutions.
    Provide leadership to drive resolution with a sense of urgency.

  • Through proactive outreach and end user support, stay in touch
    with our users and manage the queue for enhancements and
    problem resolution with our technology teams. Identify
    opportunities to improve client data and data management
    processes, and help develop pragmatic solutions to
    continuously improve.
  • Proactively engage with business and technology partners, as
    well as technology providers and industry experts, to be
    informed about capabilities that will move the business
    forward.
  • Support client data governance activities. Define meaningful
    metrics with business partners to report on the quality and
    state of client data; maintain and enhance reporting as needed.

  • Consult with organizations throughout the firm on strategies
    and projects with impact on client data.
  • Understand client needs and preferences, business and
    affiliate objectives and environments, information management
    best practices, relevant corporate policies, and regulations
    and requirements (including information security, and privacy).
    Apply this knowledge to appropriately design and balance
    solutions, such that key needs are satisfied (or better), and
    key risks are properly understood and mitigated.

    Technical/Functional Qualifications:


  • 5-7 years experience in
    data analysis, business analysis, and project management in a
    large organization.
  • Well-developed project management skills, with strong record
    of on time, on budget, high-quality delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: able to
    structure and present information (including complex issues,
    trade-offs, and strategies) in a clear, concise, and
    audience-appropriate manner.
  • Able and willing to deliver bad news, confront issues
    proactively, and work inclusively and tenaciously to identify
    win-win solutions. Self-confident; capable of commanding
    respect at all levels.
  • Strong business partnership and influencing skills to gain
    alignment on project requirements and obtain resources and
    information, especially in cross-functional teams.
    Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively in a matrix,
    'virtual' environment.
  • In addition to collaborative skill and comfort, is also highly
    self-motivated, self-sufficient, and able to work
    independently as needed.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets using SQL; ability to
    synthesize data and summarize findings into effective
    presentations.
  • Possess subject matter expertise to identify potential
    upstream and downstream impact of planned system changes and
    be able to recommend system and business solutions.
  • Capable of thinking and acting strategically, and also working
    with close attention to detail and accuracy.
