Fixed Income Valuation Controller

The successful candidate will be expected to have:

• Good understanding of products such as ABS, MBS, CDOs, CMBS and understand valuation inputs such as deal capital structure, waterfalls, cashflow triggers, and collateral characteristics and be able to determine how they impact the pricing of the security.
• Prior experience in working with the traders and desk heads in addressing PV related issues and others.
• Oversee theproper maintainance of an MS Access PV reporting database.
• Work closely withthe different product team leads on addressing PV, reserve and other reporting issues.
• Work on the consolidation and oversee the reporting of the monthly reserves and IPV results. Have an understanding of accounting standards such as FAS 157 and other conventions, MTM, Available for Sale, Held to maturity and practical application of these. Keep up with changes in MTM accounting.
• Ability to multitask, work independently and is willing and capable to build a solid control environment
• Provide ad-hoc support to the regional head of valuations, collecting, analyzing and presenting data as necessary to allow management decisions to be made.

  • Four year bachelors degree or international equivalentPreferred Qualifications
    • Degree in a math, finance, science or economics based subject (MSc in a finance related subject
    • A strong communicator, with a good understanding of the valuation of structured products, and an appreciation of the relationship between market risk exposure, valuation and P&L
    • A lateral thinker experienced in being part of cross product / cross functional project teams
    • Attention to detail, strong team player, willing to perform some reporting work for management
