Description
The Senior Business Analyst provides broad leadership experience and expertise in business processes and system functionality. This position determines, analyzes, validates and leads the definition of critical processes in support of technology solutions enabling the business strategic vision. The Senior Business Analyst is focused on many disciplines, including Enterprise Resource Planning, Business Intelligence and the WEB, and leads the business collaboration efforts to analyze and document functional requirements and priorities, and to validate solutions in support of overall business unit goals. This position also has in-depth experience with ERP Manufacturing / Operations business processes.
Responsibilities
Act as a subject matter expert for two or more disciplines (ERP Finance, Distribution or Manufacturing, Business Intelligence or the WEB), utilizing in-depth understanding of interdependencies to prioritize and streamline processes.
Provide in-depth expertise in ERP manufacturing / operations functions, preferably within JD Edwards.
Work with multiple locations and organizations to improve existing systems and to anticipate future direction changes providing scope for future projects.
Take projects from initial inception through final completion incorporating and documenting project scope and objectives, creating project timelines, monitoring and reporting on project milestones and identifying and addressing any issues which may impact progress.
Responsible for gathering, writing and communicating functional specifications to meet highly complex business needs, and leading project teams and group facilitation sessions in the design and development cycles.
Gathers information from existing systems, analyzes program and time requirements. Assists project manager in preparing time estimates and justification for assigned tasks. Assists in setting priorities.
Provide guidance and oversight for Test Case preparation, manage and / or execute integration testing. Provide management project updates.
Oversee pilot preparation, may assist in support of user acceptance testing and coordinating rollouts including establishing rollout processes, executing, fine tuning and documenting process through initial deployments and transferring deployment responsibility to others and working in a support role, as needed.
Teams with project personnel in resolving fairly complex program issues. Works with internal customers and management to resolve issues and validate programming requirements within their areas of responsibility. Provides technical advice on complex programming.
May serve as project lead for smaller projects or components of large and complex initiatives. Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
Work with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them. Participates and provides expertise in technical reviews and inspections to verify the implementation through the entire project.
Will lead or coordinate activities with team members and business partners across multiple locations.
Position Requirements
Requires a BA in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent work experience
Minimum eight – twelve years experience supporting business process integration, working in multiple disciplines (ERP, Business Intelligence, WEB)
Strong manufacturing / operations experience
Strong organizational, project management and process analysis skills are essential. Experience in manufacturing a plus
Global experience a plus
In-depth and deep knowledge of JD Edwards required. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne experience a plus.
Good interpersonal skills required to interact with customers and team members
Requires a high level of expertise in a variety of application and business areas, particularly manufacturing and operations
Requires thorough understand of planning, analysis and testing techniques required to support JD Edwards or related application systems
Requires strong influence skills to ensure system implementations adapt to best practices and those best practices (such as vanilla implementations) are adhered to on an on-going basis
Requires ability to analyze complex business problems, propose effective solutions and understand and apply business vision and direction
Requires ability to apply broad business knowledge and practical experience to the analysis / solution generation process
Requires ability to coordinate system testing cycle, issues tracking and resolution
Requires ability to be adaptable to a variety of project team roles, such as analyst, tester, documentation writer, trainer, or team lead. Requires ability to estimate, plan, schedule, organize, coordinate, and execute activities
Requires ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and priorities
Requires ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to management, team members, business and technology professionals
Requires ability to develop good working relationships with business sponsors, business partners and technical staff
Requires understanding of project management processes, including: project planning; project risk and issues identification, and mitigation
