Technical Sales Engineer

The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for:
- Proactively follow-up via phone to prospective customers trialing software, attend key events and targeted webinars.
- Determine targets of call attempts, transition rates and leads sent to Sales.
- Demonstrate an ability in attaining goals.
- Exceed weekly, monthly and quarterly metrics on: call attempts, leads to sales, sales opportunities and mutual sales goals with team.
- Establish strong working relationships with division technical marketing, field application engineers and account managers.
This is an estimated 6-12 month contract position through Volt Technical Resources- a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, located in Portland, Oregon. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies in the Pacific Northwest.
Requirements:
Required Skills for this Technical Sales Engineer position includes the following:
- Customer Support Engineer, Field Application Engineer, Account Manager, or related within Technical Marketing experience.
- BS/BA degree in Technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years lead development and/or inside-sales experience in technology industry.
- Knowledgeable of CRM applications.
- Strong technical aptitude and business acumen.
- Excellent customer relations skills and an understanding of the evaluation to sales through closing process.
- Articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Driven, self-organized and results oriented.
- Proven reputation for exceeding lead development and team sales targets.
