Technical Sales Engineer

The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for:

• Proactively follow-up via phone to prospective customers trialing software, attend key events and targeted webinars.
  
• Determine targets of call attempts, transition rates and leads sent to Sales.
  
• Demonstrate an ability in attaining goals.
  
• Exceed weekly, monthly and quarterly metrics on: call attempts, leads to sales, sales opportunities and mutual sales goals with team.
  
• Establish strong working relationships with division technical marketing, field application engineers and account managers.

This is an estimated 6-12 month contract position through Volt Technical Resources- a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, located in Portland, Oregon. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies in the Pacific Northwest.

Required Skills for this Technical Sales Engineer position includes the following:

• Customer Support Engineer, Field Application Engineer, Account Manager, or related within Technical Marketing experience.
  
• BS/BA degree in Technical field.
  
• Minimum of 2 years lead development and/or inside-sales experience in technology industry.
  
• Knowledgeable of CRM applications.
  
• Strong technical aptitude and business acumen.
  
• Excellent customer relations skills and an understanding of the evaluation to sales through closing process.
  
• Articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Driven, self-organized and results oriented.
  
• Proven reputation for exceeding lead development and team sales targets.
