Bachelor's Degree required in accounting or comparable experience.

CPA preferred.

Six to nine years of related experience.

Excellent knowledge and understanding of GAAP accounting principles as related to investments.

Excellent working knowledge of the fixed income and equity markets.

Very good analytical and problem solving skills.

Able to influence decision-making processes without having specific authority.

Comfort level working within a dynamic and complex organizational structure.

Strong work ethic and results orientation.

Sense of urgency working in a time sensitive environment, able to multi-task with strong attention to detail.

Work independently or with matrix reporting responsibilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Able to interface effectively with senior management.

Excellent PC skills, advanced knowledge of Excel and investment accounting.

Description:

Chartis International has an opportunity for a Senior Investment Accounting Analyst in our Finance division.

As a Senior Investment Accounting Analyst, your responsibilities will be:

Review subsidiary financial statements to ensure appropriate application of GAAP (FSP 115, FSP 157 etc...) and ensure the timely and accurate recording of all investment related transactions in the investment accounting systems.

Coordinate inter-company investment related transactions and ensure the appropriate entries are recorded.

Process investment accounting related adjustments and follow through with Foreign General entities to ensure the appropriate entries are recorded in their ledgers and reflected in their quarterly financial results.

Coordinate the OTTI process for Chartis International. Liaise with AIG Investment Accounting and Asset Management to ensure all holdings have been reviewed and OTTI is accurately calculated.

Provide support for the external reporting process, GAAP and STAT.

Provide investment accounting support as directed by Global Investment Accounting Director.
