For more information about Fannie Mae and our career opportunities, please visit www.fanniemae.com JOB INFORMATION Fannie Mae issues various types of debt securities (Bullet, Callable, Floating, etc.) to fund its operations. As a member of the Capital Markets Pricing team, the Pricing Analyst will have the responsibility of assigning fair value to Fannie Mae debentures each month in support of financial reporting. Prior pricing experience is not required, but the candidate must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of the different types of debt securities and the factors that influence the value of those instruments.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Execute monthly mark-to-market fair-value-pricing for all Fannie Mae debentures in support of financial reporting and ensure that pricing deliverables meet financial reporting deadlines.
  • Use applicable pricing software and systems to specify market data and derive current market prices for a variety of Fannie Mae debentures.
  • Develop and implement new processes and controls to increase accuracy and reduce operational risk; follow established processes and controls.
  • Create and maintain detailed procedure and methodology documentation to ensure compliance with division, regulator, and audit (internal and external) requirements.
  • Work with trading desks, middle office staff, third party vendors and other business units regarding debentures that must be priced.
  • Participate in other projects including, but not limited to improvement and development of pricing system methodologies.
  • Track values for comparable securities in daily market activity, working with commercial research organizations and applying various financial data and tools.
  • Apply FASB, SEC, SOX and other federal or market-mandated rules for valuing assets.
  • Weekend and holiday work is required to meet production deadlines

 

Requirements EDUCATION
  • Bachelor Degree or Equivalent Master or Other Advanced Degree
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Finance, Business; CFA
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
  • 3 years of related experience
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
 
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field; two or more years of financial or accounting experience
  • Knowledge of financial markets and the factors that influence the value of corporate debentures
  • Attention to detail and ability to recognize and correct data inconsistencies; strong analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task while following established procedures and controls
  • Proficiency with Excel; experience with Bloomberg is a plus
  • Experience with Access, SQL, or Visual Basic is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
