  • People manager responsible for ensuring Dell's products and services are sold to specified customer segments (via telephone, web, or e-mail).
  • Effectively manages the inside sales team and resources.

  • Four types of Sales Manager:
  • Retention/development responsible for maintaining and expanding business relationships/market share with existing Dell customers.
  • Acquisition focuses on identifying, targeting, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities.
  • Queue/transactional focuses on fielding in-bound sales calls and efficiently completing/closing the sale; all must efficiently utilize Dell tools and work closely with the necessary resources to meet sales objectives.
  • Online team responsible for sales and follow up from orders that come over the web.
