Job Description 

The Director, Center for Healthcare Innovation (CHCI), will be responsible for sourcing and evaluating innovative products, services, programs and technologies that have the potential to advance and transform how Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and its member hospitals deliver care. The Director will manage a variety of activities related to this endeavor, including ideation, idea screening and concept development, business case creation and conducting pilots needed to support decision making on the value of broad scale adoption.

The position will work closely with strategy, clinical and operations leaders at both the National office and CHI's market-based hospitals to define key segments and areas for growth and enhanced care delivery. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Research and Development and will be based in Denver, CO.


1. Actively keep abreast of market and consumer trends and conditions in order to identify innovative technology, product, program and service opportunities that align with CHI's long-term strategic growth and enhanced care delivery goals
2. Effectively translate and act on input/feedback from strategy, clinical and operations stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth and enhanced care delivery
3. Develop a process to source and build a pipeline of potential opportunities, including tools to facilitate the identification and assessment of opportunities for strategic fit and value creation
4. Build sustaining and collaborative relationships with National- and market-based stakeholders, as well as industry, government and academic thought leaders
5. Coordinate and oversee the full implementation and execution of pilot programs with internal and external collaborators within the accepted timelines, budgets and resources
6. Manage P&L for CHCI
7. Identify funding opportunities and coordinate submission of grants to support identified pilot programs

 


Job Requirements 

 

a. Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred):  MBA or equivalent Master's degree in health care with 5-7 years of strategy, business development, marketing and/or product development required.  Previous role within an innovation-oriented health care entity preferred.
b. Experience (required and preferred): Previous experience starting a new entity, e.g. a company, business segment, market, product/service within an innovation role preferred. Experience in business case development and project/program management. Additional Responsibilities
