Lead special projects and major projects setting strategic architectural and software direction. Responsibilities include defining the standards and architecture for developing and integrating business modelling, services modelling and data modelling as a foundation for development and reuse across the organization. Possess extensive and specialized technical knowledge in areas that can inform Services and Information Architecture, including applications development, business process and data analysis, research and development, and systems integration for business systems. Lead critical applications or complex architectural functions. Provide analysis and solutions to technical and business issues, including: setting corporate direction for processes to better manage reusable designs and code assets; providing guidance to engineering teams to follow agreed software asset standards; and co-ordinating Asset Library enhancement, asset standard definition, and inter-asset relationship management activities. Understand and apply architecture and corporate vision, setting direction on implementation.  Maintain awareness of business and technology strategies and implement technical alternatives and strategies to gain competitive advantage. Manage vendor relationships, and maintain the complex technical infrastructure of Services and Information Architecture to meet business requirements. Lead the development of strategic technical architecture plans in partnership with product engineering. Provide architectural solutions to business problems and architectural leadership and direction to management. Remain current on technical and professional advances and business strategies regarding Services and Information Architecture. Serve as expert in Services and Information Architecture, identify process improvements and problem prevention, and advise department and management of relevant information as appropriate. Provide leadership in setting strategic architectural and software direction. Define and deliver global and strategic architecture projects. Initiate analysis for complex problems and issues, determine technical alternatives, analyze vendor solutions, and develop appropriate standards for technology application. Initiate and conduct feasibility studies of new and modified solution building blocks. For large solutions, prepare cost/benefit analyses, functional and detail specifications. Perform reviews of new and existing systems to ensure compliance with architectural standards. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.
