You get to:
� Lead, support, or manage engineering projects for new products and co-manufacturing teams or manage Johnsonville engineering projects at large� includes needs analysis, research, concept and design development, systems commissioning, budgeting, cost analysis, training, capital processing, documentation, and project presentation.
� Enhance engineering project results by collaboratively working with our members throughout Johnsonville and with our external contracted-stakeholders including our co-manufacturers.
� Evaluate reliability and production success factors for processing and packaging system applications within co-manufacturer�s facilities and in the context of Johnsonville operations
� Bolster project success by partnering with governmental regulatory agencies which may include USDA, OSHA, DNR, EPA, and etcetera.
� Support Johnsonville members and teams, and our external stakeholders by providing technical information, direction, or advice for continuous improvement, creative or innovative ideas that promote Johnsonville�s performance.
� Build supportive relationships to help fulfill the success of Marketing and Manufacturing with our teammates in all functional areas including R&D, Quality, Food Safety, Packaging, Logistics, Finance, and Accounting.
� Participate in the continuing development and mentorship of our engineering team and its members, and our Johnsonville teammates on Project Management and Engineering principles.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
� A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering related field� business skills are a plus
� 8 years of demonstrated successful performance in managing projects in a food or beverage processing facility� Experience in a USDA regulated facility, ergonomic design, or human safety and food safety design-evaluation are pluses
� 3 years of coaching/managerial experience including the ability and experience in developing yourself and those around you to higher levels of responsibility
� Demonstrated experience in the evaluation, design, and commissioning of packaging, material handling, and processing systems� Food processing or packaging system design is a plus
� Knowledge and ability to research and synthesize new and emerging technologies into manageable and practical applications� Experience in new product development is a plus
� In depth knowledge of multiple product package platforms (12) including specific detailed knowledge of the equipment characteristics that were needed to create those packages
� Demonstrated ability to manage projects in a team-based environment and use of collaborative work methods� Experience in cross-functional teamwork is a plus
� Strong communication and presentation skills (oral, written, and listening)
� Experience in the creation and writing of engineering specifications
� The ability to effectively use Excel, Word, MS Project (or equivalent project management software) and Computer Aided Design software
� Ability to travel 20% - 30%
