Sr Analyst, Info Security

Job Responsibilities:
Provides information systems security support services to the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG). Supports the Electronic Support Unit (ESU) Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) by acting as a consultant for all ISS security matters for the unit and district. Tasks performed include: providing security certification and accreditation support; providing technical support on security incident coordination, reporting and tracking; providing support on security compliance and controls; developing and supporting local information security awareness and training program; preparing assessment of risks, developing contingency plans, developing command policies, developing technical and non-technical solutions to system/LAN security problems, and ensuring compliance with Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and USCG policies; monitoring, auditing, and testing systems and networks for possible security problems; reviewing security log files on a daily basis and investigating anomalies as required; testing, installing and maintaining security infrastructure tools; testing and installing patches and fixes for security vulnerabilities in vendor software; providing internet monitoring service at selected points on the domain; monitor the IntruVert network monitor for hacking and virus/worm infections; and providing investigation, coordination, reporting and follow-up support for network security incidents.
Required Education:
Requires BS/BA degree.
Required Work Experience:
Requires 5-8 years experience.
Other Desirable Requirements:
Familiarity with DoD and DHS information security guidelines including FISMA, DIACAP, NIST procedures. Familiarity with vulnerability assessment and tools such as Retina and Nessus. Excellent writing skills
