Kelly Engineering Resources is looking to fill a Direct Hire opportunity for a Project Manager with our customer who is in the business of saving lives. They are the leaders in designing, developing, manufacturing, and marketing safety products that include smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, and fire extinguishers. This position is located in the Western Suburbs and would start as soon as we locate the right candidate!
RESPONSIBILITIES: 'Play a key role in planning, defining, executing and meeting performance objectives for ground-up, major and minor programs. Programs include, but are not limited to, new products, line extensions, cost reductions, quality improvements and compliance to standards. 'Lead cross-functional teams. 'Champion and drive the development of products. 'Track, measure and review program metrics, schedules, budgets and issues. 'Facilitate the development and tracking of detailed program schedules; 'Facilitate the writing and release of specifications for both manufactured and sourced products. 'Assure program deliverables are complete and meet requirements within the timeline. 'Schedule, deliver and present tollgates. 'Provide project direction to the Marketing, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing cross-functional teams and integrate and align assigned resources across multiple projects.
QUALIFICATIONS 'BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management or equivalent with 5-7 years relevant experience. 'Must be well grounded in project management techniques, processes and methodologies with demonstrated experience utilizing project plans, issues logs, risk/mitigation strategies and cost/benefit analysis tools. 'Must have a strong business perspective with the ability to quickly analyze situations and alternatives with the ability to problem solve and make prudent decisions. 'Must be proactive thinker with experience at building effective working relationships. 'Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and be flexible with the ability to multi-task. 'Some travel required.
