Job Description

Kelly Scientific Resources currently has a contract Animal Caretaker position available at a well-known company in the Twin Cities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain industry experience.
Job Duties: Know and implement GLP regulations as they apply to the non-clinical research environment and individual protocols. Ensure proper documentation is completed according to applicable Standard Operating Procedures and protocols. Perform all housekeeping duties according to established procedures and guidelines-including daily cleaning and disinfecting of animal runs, pens and cages. Perform all general husbandry procedures according to established procedures and guidelines that meet acceptable criteria of the veterinarians. Comply with facility and departmental safety policies to ensure a safe environment. Participate in the facility quality improvement process.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: '0-2 years related animal research/care. 'AALAS Certification at the ALAT, LAT, and LATG level optional but preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS: 'Must have an understanding of animal use in a research environment. 'No known allergies to multiple types of animal species. 'Physically able to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds safely. 'Able to handle multiple types of animal species. 'May involve exposure to chemicals. Personal Protective Equipment required when working with chemicals.
