In response to hospitals' growing need to aggregate disparate data into meaningful business intelligence, The Advisory Board is rapidly expanding its new portfolio of technology solutions. The goal of these solutions is to elevate a member (client) institution's ability to recognize obstacles, make faster decisions and ultimately improve performance.

 

As a critical member of the start-up team with a firmly established publicly-traded company, the Oracle Data Warehouse Developer will be integral to the successful design, development, deployment and maintenance of data integration and data quality processes for various mission critical business area applications using PL/SQL and Informatica.

 

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, development and deployment of the data profiling, ETL and data quality processes using PL/SQL and Informatica
  • Develop and deploy ETL job workflow with reliable error/exception handling and rollback framework
  • Responsible for monitoring the production status, and ensure the ETL process works as expected
  • Research and resolve production issues
  • Perform unit testing and system integration testing, and assist the business analysts with user acceptance testing
  • Develop ETL design documentation, test results documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOP) documentation.
  • Participate in and lead application design and data model reviews
  • Lead application and module performance analysis - Make and execute tuning recommendations
  • Develop and incorporate ETL best practices and standards
  • Responsible for the configuration management of the configurable items
  • Effectively manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Work closely with the ETL Administrator and make sure that the ETL process runs smoothly
  • Works with Technical Leads, developers, and Project Managers to drive technical solutions, review and validate project activities

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years experience in ETL development building production data warehouses and business intelligence systems
  • Excellent understanding of Oracle architecture, administration, PL/SQL, query plans, and security
  • Expert level PL/SQL coding, debugging and tuning - Includes generating Packages, Triggers, Functions and Procedures
  • Experience developing and deploying complex data warehouse ETL workflows.
  • Expert level Application Volume and Performance tuning; Experience in complex ETL development with large data volumes
  • Senior level expertise with Oracle internal packages (UTL_HTTP, UTL_TCP, UTL_FILE etc.)
  • Experience in data warehousing, job scheduling, data profiling, data cleansing, data quality validation and testing
  • Experience generating, documenting and executing database application design - Includes Data Modeling - producing LDM, PDM and Conceptual Models
  • Experience migrating large applications with complex data structures from development into production
  • Team player with ability to work productively with internal and external clients and to translate requirements into solutions
  • Self-motivation and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work concurrently on multiple tasks is essential
  • Unix experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Informatica
  • Data Modeling experience
  • Experience with MicroStrategy products
  • Experience in the healthcare industry
