Classification: Full Time

Compensation: $75000 to $95000 per year

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a Senior System Administrator to join our growing staff. The objective
of this position will be to maintain and operate the organization's computer systems and/or
network.
1. Design and implements disaster recovery plans, network design, server farm design,
clustered applications and databases design.
2. Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, backup, storage, and server related issues.
3. Anticipate potential problems, make recommendations and implement solutions with
regards to high-availability, performance and capacity planning.
4. Identify areas of growth and scalability concerns and recommend courses of action.
5. Perform daily operational activities around monitoring and maintenance of production
systems; providing visibility of these activities through detailed reporting.
6. Provides user access and support to systems.
7. Documents configuration, maintenance procedures and standards for supported
systems.
8. Plans for and responds to service outages and other events.
9. Establishes and sustains interactive relationships with external vendors and contacts to
result in favorable networks to support the current and future goals of the organization
and to benchmark practices/results to maximize organizational effectiveness.
10. Provides fiscal support for the department by providing input for the departmental budget
and manages within budget parameters to ensure financial benchmarks and met and
proactive course correction is taken when necessary.
11. Keeps manager informed of important developments, potential problems, and related
information necessary for effective management. Coordinates/communicates plans and
activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team
approach.
12. Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, technology, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in computer science, technology or position of similar responsibilities.
5+ years of technical experience in Linux/Unix systems administration preferred.
• Extensive bash shell scripting experience.
• Thorough knowledge of Linux, database servers, web servers, mail servers, networking, and
monitoring.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Strong self-starter with a record of success.
• Strong collaboration and teambuilding skills.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to cope with the rapid pace and constant change associated with the industry.
• Ability to successfully manage numerous projects simultaneously.
• Thorough knowledge of Redhat Linux, MySQL databases, Cisco networking, Power MTA,
Zabbix, and MySQL Enterprise monitor.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with personnel and outside
contacts.

• Experience with RedHat Linux Administration
• Experience with Database Administration with MySQL
• Experience with Virtualization
• Experience with Cloud Computing (or Grid Computing)
• Experience with Zabbix Monitoring
• Experience with PowerMTA Email Gateway
• Experience with Caching technology such as memcached.
