Job Description 

Key Position Responsibilities:
This individual will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with transportation services and local delivery companies. This will be accomplished through on-site interaction with carriers and ongoing cost studies and surveys. Additional duties will include scheduling of truck departure times; auditing and approving of the freight bill process; investigating, inspecting and initiating claims on lost, short or damaged shipments; interaction with branch order processing departments; and creating and maintaining all administrative files and controls. Supervisory duties including coaching, mentoring and training as well as handling all employee relations issues for the Transportation staff.  This position will require up to 25% travel to locations within our service area.
 


Job Requirements 

Minimum work experience required:
  • 1-5 years experience in transportation management preferred. (Internship experience can apply.)
  • 1-3 years experience in a supervisory role.  (Internship experience can apply).
  • Small package outbound logistics experience preferred.
 
Minimum education and training required:
  • Bachelors Degree required preferably in business, logistics or a technical field (Masters degree is a plus)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Access is a plus)
  • Must be customer service oriented
