The Henry Ford Cancer Management unit has an opportunity for a RN Ambulatory II position. The job will be based at the Detroit campus with weekday shifts from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. RNs with Cancer Management or Oncology are preferred.Graduate nurses are not eligible for this position.DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, performs physical assessment, psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, clinical practice, triage, consultation, quality assurance, research, and education. Demonstrates clinical competence and engages in patient teaching.  Supervises other nursing staff as appropriate.  The position navigates cancer patients through-out their treatment after diagnosis. This includes extensive phone triage/consultations with patients. This position works with very acute patients. ENVIRONMENT: Location is in a clinical environment. Business casual attire is the unit's dress code. This is a desk based position with a good deal of time on the phone. Part of the job is to attend off unit meetings and interaction with physicians and other Health System professionals. HENRY FORD HEALTH SYSTEM:  *2008 US News Americas Best Hospital. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Graduate from a school of nursing and current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Minimum of 5 years in-patient or clinic experience. Successful completion of HFHS (Parent Operating Group) Pharmacology test.
