POSITION: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/BUDGET ANALYST

STARTING SALARY:$24,881 - $40,000 per year; qualifications and funding will determine actual salary

Minimum Training & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and one year of responsible secretarial or administrative experience; or high school diploma and five years of responsible secretarial experience or administrative experience required. Proficiency using Microsoft Office (including FrontPage) computer software highly desired. The equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of employment practices and Equal Opportunity Employment. Ability to work with budgets, grants and data analysis. Knowledge of Banner finance system or willingness to be trained. Ability to work independently with discretion using confidential records and budget information. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public.
Specific Duties:
Reporting to the Senior Assistant to the Dean, provides administrative support to the Grant Management Team and manages the financial accounting system for the NetSCOPE grant. Schedules meetings and prepares paperwork such as copying agendas and information packets; attends meetings to record and prepare minutes for distribution; generates documents for communication, publication and information regarding NetSCOPE grant activities; maintains NetSCOPE website; serves as liaison between NetSCOPE and Sponsored Programs and Research Office (SPAR) as well as the College of Education’s Budget Analyst; maintains records of grant-related expenses and prepares fiscal reports; assists principal investigators and project director with budget preparation and reporting; processes paperwork and maintains records of expenses related to professional development and graduate coursework; maintains office supplies for NetSCOPE office; initiates all purchase requisitions in collaboration with SPAR; maintains inventory of grant-related materials; communicates with COE/Withers Facilities Manager to ensure proper set-up for special functions; assists with coordination/planning of special events. Performs other related duties as required.
