This Systems Engineer job description: Technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specificationsjob working for our client in Sierra Vista, AZ.
Responsibilities include:
-Assisting in Technical Requirements decomposition and traceability
-Implementation Requirements decomposition and traceability (including the management of those requirements during increment execution)
-Assisting with component design
-SWIT test procedures, manual and automated (including requirements traceability and hand-off to test team)
Potential candidate should be highly motivated and willing to take ownership of assigned area. This position requires substantial Customer interaction during design and development.
Education and Experience: Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years or more of professional experience. Considered an expert, authority in discipline.
Required skills: -Strong communication skills
-Requirements management experience
-System Test Experience with Prior experience using Automated Test Tools (such as Mercury, Rational Functional Tester, Rational Test Manager, JUnit, Cruise Control)
-Critical thinking and problem solving skills
-Successful participation in full life cycle system development ideally involving multiple engineering disciplines
-Experience with system modeling (i.e UML)
-Demonstrated ability to influence a multi-disciplinary team
Desired skills:
- Familiarity with Rational software tools (ClearCase, ClearQuest, RequisitePro, Functional Tester and Test Manager)
- Apache Ant build script experience
- Experience with IBM WebSphere software, Documentum, ThingFinder, Adobe Livecycle ES, Crystal Reports
Must currently possess a Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one (Must be US Citizen to qualify for clearance)
