Project Manager - Laboratory Clinical Trials Management

We manage over a third of all clinical trials conducted in the world, have experience in over 100 countries, and service six continents. Covance Central Laboratory Project Managers must be knowledgeable and experienced in Project Management techniques related to Clinical Trials. In this position you will drive diverse and challenging projects, demonstrating ownership and forward thinking - while keeping a collaborative attitude and fostering excellent communication. Demonstrated ability to make decisions and showing flexibility is necessary. Our Project Managers are able to act as a consultant and a technical expert, demonstrating through his/her integrity and dedication, the ability to deliver outstanding customer service. Essential Functions:
  • Key contact for sponsors, primary liaison role between Sponsor, CRO, Referral Labs, and Covance.
  • Takes the lead over the protocol review and study feasibility.
  • Act as a consultant in providing recommendations and advice to all applicable parties.
  • Act as an ambassador on behalf of the sponsor within Covance CCLS and across Covance business units; exemplify the concept of Signature Client Service.
  • Ability to create and motivate a team around project deliverables.
  • Provide day-to-day project management oversight; effectively managing, planning and coordinating all related project activities, including budgets.
  • Ensure that all customer expectations are documented and acted upon in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate through his/her organization the ability to manage conflicting priorities and to make difficult decisions.
  • Ability to act efficiently in an environment with dynamic timelines and priorities.

    Required - BS/BA four (4) year degree (or equivalent) in medical, technical or laboratory related science and a minimum of three (3) years industry experience. - Demonstrated strong customer service skills and client expertise. - Excellent written, verbal, and strong interpersonal skills. - Strong planning, organizational, negotiation and problem solving skills. - Demonstrated a high degree of initiative and ability to work collaboratively. Preferred - Experience with clinical trial/development projects (i.e., minimum of three (3) years working in a clinical trial environment).
