Description General Summary:
Places cash orders with the Federal Reserve, verifies cash received in these orders, fills teller cash orders, balances vault nightly, and performs universal teller duties. Identify the financial service needs of each member, take extraordinary steps to offer solutions to meet those needs, and promptly deliver the credit union's products and services with accuracy and courtesy. Provide prompt, accurate, and courteous service to all internal members (co-workers) at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Operations:

Performs all duties in accordance with the credit union's external service standards.
Perform all duties in accordance with the credit union's operations policies and procedures.
Perform all duties in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
Assists the tellers with balancing, verification of cash and approval of any cash outages. Investigate teller losses and give guidance in correction process.
Responsible for maintaining vault cash at level consistent with Credit Union policy.
Responsible for ATM balancing, cash replenishment, and general maintenance of unit.
Responsible for ordering cash from and sending cash to the Federal Reserve Bank.
Responsible for daily balancing and security of the vault fund.
Assists manager with all member problems, referrals and check approvals for the branch office.
Remits money orders, travelers cheques, and credit card advance totals. Performs monthly audits on travelers cheques.
Completes daily work to submit to accounting and acts as a liaison between accounting and branch operations.
Effectively cross-sells credit union products and services to members.
Gathers, analyzes, and interprets data in order to resolve problems.
Performs monthly audits on teller drawers and vault.
Responsible for balancing and replenishment of the CDM.
Responsible for ordering, auditing, and tracking ATM and VISA gift cards.
Comply with BSA regulations when performing all job requirements, and stay abreast of updates/requirements of BSA/OFAC/CIP through completion of training courses assigned annually by supervisor as well as attendance at quarterly all employee meetings discussing BSA compliance activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Staff Development:

May assist with the training of new tellers.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


Experience:

Minimum of three to five years teller/financial experience.
Experience handling large amounts of cash and balancing large amounts of daily processing.

Education:

Minimum of a high school education, college or specialized training preferred.

Physical:

Requires the hand/eye coordination necessary to operate office business machines (calculator, phone, fax, copier, etc.) and a personal computer.
Hearing and speech sufficient to verbally communicate in person and on the telephone.
Mobility to frequently alternate between sitting, standing, and moving about the facilities.
Requirements Analytical ability to analyze and interpret information involving numerical calculations. Analytical ability to quickly assess members' financial needs and offer solutions.
Focus on serving the member, gaining the respect and trust of the member, and acting with the member in mind.
Have tolerance with people and processes; listens and checks before acting; tries to understand the people and the data before making judgments and acting; follows established processes.
Effective oral and written communications skills to converse in person with members and correspond in writing.
Ability to problem solve and manage conflict by quickly assessing the situation, use active listening skills, reach common ground, and gain cooperation.
Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to financial institution operations.
