Job Description

Provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems. Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research. Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Will perform a variety of development and service tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Qualifications:
- Proven experience with evaluation, testing and installation of high power femtosecond lasers - primarily regenerative amplifiers.
- Product stability, reliability, and service experience in real world usage of directly diode-pumped femtosecond oscillators or Modelock Lasers.
- Strong analytical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills with ability to resolve highly complex laser, electrical, and optical issues, and conduct advanced research
- Proven ability to work well independently and in a project team environment to clarify or resolve problems and develop solutions.
- Technical writing skills with emphasis on technical reports/tests to memorialize results of development efforts.
- Set up and perform/supervise controlled tests in support of design development.
- Use of electronic devices such as oscilloscopes, laser beam analyzers, autocorrelators, beam profilers, and spectrometers.

Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with diode-pumped doped (Nd or other) glass amplifiers. - Technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties and process advantages and limitations with emphasis on physical and reliability aspects of the product. - Project history maintenance consistent with internal SOP's and FDA QSR requirements. - Optical engineering program experience (ZEMAX, CODE V) a plus or MathLab or LabView. - Experience with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures to suggest improvements to insure product stability and reliability. - Experience with ultrafast regenerative amplifier lasers a plus.
