Sales Team Lead - Latin America

JOB DESCRIPTION


Our Client defines, develops and installs custom compressor solutions to upstream, midstream and downstream energy operations. They employee over 4,500 and recorded revenues of over $2B. Our Client provides all the tools for success: incredible brand equity, financial scale, brand loyalty and the ability to impact a business unit.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop a long term territory strategy including countries to focus on, products to promote, establishing distribution channels (i.e. through agents, partners, Toromont remote sales offices, etc.), and setting goals/budgets for a 5 year plan

2. Hire, as necessary, full time outside sales employees to develop the territory appropriately;

3. Develop relationships with agents and/or local companies in Latin America to represent Client

4. Through Client employees, personally or through agents, provide leadership during the entire sales cycle, including:

  • Do market research to determine which countries in Latin America will be the best locations to focus our business development activities;
  • Prospect for clients in those territories
  • Introduce the new clients to our products and services;
  • Solicit bids for new equipment
  • Develop bidding strategy with the team at Toromont
  • Execute bids
  • Perform follow up and closing activities on bids
  • Maintain customer goodwill throughout the contract lifetime
  • If necessary, assist in collecting money from the clients

5. Direct leadership to any inside and outside sales people reporting directly to you. This includes performance reviews, salary setting, performance coaching and day-to-day direction.

Territory

All of Central & South America and Mexico.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have a minimum 10 years experience in creatively and effectively establishing a Latin American based sales territory. The successful candidate will be a business-minded sales executive with a strong record of accomplishment in creating high impact sales strategies, developing strong value propositions and effectively working with and influencing other functions (i.e. engineering, R&D, marketing).


He/She should have excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively direct the overall initiatives in order to maximize revenues and profits. The candidate should have proven project management, financial, communications, decision-making, presentation and organization skills.


Requirements include:

  • Ten (10) years +experience establishing, managing and developing a Latin American sales region.
  • Five (5) years + experience selling high value capital equipment and associated services.
  • Five (5) years + reciprocating compressor equipment and or upstream natural gas experience highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in defining and launching effective sales campaigns.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • High business acumen and contract negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
