Solution Architecture Sr Principal

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The AirCentre Enterprise Operations portfolio presents business-critical solutions that support airlines day-to-day operations with a focus on optimal performance and cost efficiency. From movement of aircraft and flight plan generation, to scheduling of air and ground crew, these solutions are key to our customers' operational and financial success.
The successful candidate for the Senior Architect position will be responsible for architectural oversight across the Operations portfolio to ensure operational excellence in performance, stability and scalability. He/she will work closely with the central architecture team to ensure consistency and applicability to technical standards and provide guidance to teams throughout the development process. 
 
 


Job Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor degree or equivalent, Masters degree preferred.
 
EXPERIENCE:
This individual will have proven ability to effectively communicate the company's technology direction, technical strategies and objectives in support of securing new business.  In addition, he/she will have demonstrated agility in effectively collaborating with senior-level executives on business challenges as well as employees on technical problem solving.  
 
Technologies employed across the AirCentre portfolio include, but are not limited to: UNIX, Windows, Solaris, Java, C++, .NET, Flex, Delphi, Oracle, Pervasive, MSSQL and others.  As such, extensive experience working with various technologies is required for the position.  Understanding of the AirCentre Enterprise Operations portfolio from a technology and systems perspective would be a plus, but not required.
 
Minimum 10 years related experience; Advanced computer software skills; Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously; ability to delegate work to subordinate or less experienced team members; proven leadership ability.
 
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Application Architecture: Identifies common business components and services that can be leveraged by multiple applications. Product Life Cycle: Working knowledge of phases of the product life cycle, including engineering specifications, customer requirements gathering, software design and development, testing - including unit, functional, systems and integration  implementation/delivery and maintenance. Sabre Strategic Architecture: General knowledge of the company's architectural practices and guidelines, Strategic Architectural Tenants, roadmap and security policies. Systems Analysis: Determines how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes, knowledge of products and system architecture . Systems Design: Generates or adapts equipment and technology to serve user needs; contributes to the development of business landscape, business architectures and solution architectures. Systems Integration: Knowledge of how different systems interact, including potential problems and difficulties that may occur. Technology Architecture: Defines architecture requirements and deliverables; ensures procedures for on-going operational support. Technology Strategy: Understands the company�s technology direction; ensures product development links to strategic business and technical strategies and objectives; knows where business is going and builds features into technical solutions.
