Kelly Scientific Resources has an excellent direct-hire placement opportunity available for a Quality Manager in the Eastern North Carolina area. The qualified candidate will be primarily responsible for supervising the quality department, personnel, budgeting, and overall cGMP/FDA/HACCP compliance for laboratory, safety and packaging areas. Only local candidates or those willing to relocate at their own expense will be considered at this time. Salary is based on experience related to job requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Duties: - Develop, implement and facilitate the facility's food safety and food quality programs to assure compliance. - Direct management of laboratory, water treatment, blending, sanitation, microbiological equipment, raw materials, and quality processes for entire plant. - Manage resources and budgeting while ensuring raw materials and finished products meet specifications and manufacturing standards in accordance with FDA./HACCP/GMPs. - Oversee daily QA and QC inspections to ensure all products are meeting compliance. - Coordinate the investigations of customer complaints. - Write, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures. - Recommends staffing levels based on quality requirements and directing proposals for hiring and promoting of personnel to meet departmental and operational needs. - Provides training and cross training to assure departmental objectives are met within budget, product specifications, quality requirements and safety standards. - Effectively manage employees as necessary to ensure successful performance by the department. - Provide oversight for internal audit process
Required Education and Experience: - BS Degree in Food Science, Biology or related field. - 2 + years direct experience with quality management systems in the food/beverage industry - Expert knowledge with analytical laboratory equipment instrumentation, water treatment processes, syrup formulations, principle of sanitation, SPC, microbiology, Six Sigma, and process control management - Experience and knowledge of relevant computer software and database programs, managing financial budgets, statistical process control, and quantitative analysis reporting. - Good knowledge of governmental regulatory guidelines relating to the food / beverage industry.
