Job description:
This position assists in the development and maintenance of network communications. Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to collaborate in the design and install internal and external networks. Will be responsible for testing and evaluating network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Will need to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate real world experience implementing, managing, and troubleshooting at least 3 of the following technologies:
' Linux/UNIX (SLES, HPUX 11.x, Ubuntu, Fedora) ' Citrix (MetaFrame XP, XenApp) ' Novell (GroupWise, Zenworks, eDirectory, Netware / OES2) ' Oracle (10g and 9i in a replicated environment) ' VMWare (ESX server) ' Networking, VPNs (Cisco certification preferred)
The successful candidate will be expected to work with minimal or no supervision to complete projects with the above mentioned technologies almost immediately upon starting.
Education: Bachelor's degree with and or 5 or more year's experience in the field or related area preferred.
