Job Description:
 
Responsible for all zone credit, collection and accounts receivables activities, including:  daily management all department related activities, continual evaluation of processes for improvement, representing the Credit Department in key department and company-wide
initiatives, taking a leadership role in addressing sensitive or complex customer / system issues, and providing reporting as requested. Position must operate under minimal supervision.
 
Prerequisites and Essential Functions:
 
  • Excellent working knowledge of credit and collections practices and procedures, including knowledge of bankruptcy laws.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience working with collection agencies and customers.
  • Excellent management, communication, written and presentation skills.
  • Account reconciliation skills.
  • Good understanding of accounts receivable functionality of ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of automated collection software.

 
Education and Experience Requirement:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in business or accounting.
  • Minimum of two years managerial experience.
  • Minimum of five years of credit and collections experience.

 
Essential Functions:
 
  • Direct personnel activities of staff (i.e. hires, trains, appraises, rewards, motivates, disciplines, recommends termination as necessary, etc.).
  • Assist department members in evaluating requests for credit using available resources (D&B, Credit Risk Monitor, financial statements, etc.); assigns credit limits based on department guidelines.
  • Advises credit/collections personnel with regards to administrative procedures and work priorities; acts as ongoing resource to department members.
  • Works with credit analysts to resolve key delinquent accounts, including possible customer visits as warranted.
  • Works directly with internal/external customers to negotiate and resolve disputes.
  • Assists in tracking department performance via calculation of key statistics and performs independent analysis of statistics to isolate opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinates preparation of reporting for management.
  • Represents Credit Department at cross functional meetings to ensure the department’s interest is represented.
  • Works with other departments within Siemens PLM Software to build strong working relationships, examines processes related to the cash cycle with the intent of improving, simplifying, and better interfacing with our customers.
