Project Engineer

Lead or support new product development projects involving design initiation, development, detailing, implementation in production, and related support.  Initiate, develop, and implement ideas to enhance product quality or to reduce cost.  Solve engineering problems effectively and efficiently.  Achieve results as an individual contributor, cross-functional team member, or leader.  Implement best practices to support the continued development of a high-performance engineering organization. 

 Minimum Qualifications:

• 1. BS in Mechanical Engineering. Advanced degree a plus (engineering, industrial design, or business).
• 2. 3+ years product design and project engineering experience. Excellent practical knowledge of design and mechanical engineering.
• 3. Knowledge of and experience with electro-mechanical design, plastic-component development, and injection molding
• 4. Strong ability to convert ideas into product concepts, to develop concepts into fully defined products, and to provide input into the development and control of production processes
• 5. Proven success in product development as a member or leader of a cross-functional team
• 6. Hands-on technical and mechanical aptitude
• 7. Proficiency in 3D solid modeling CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
• 8. Excellent project management skills
• 9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• 1. 5+ years of design experience with low-cost, high-volume, high-quality injection-molded plastic products
• 2. Experience with Quality Function Deployment, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, Design For Six Sigma, and Lean
• 3. Experience with Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics
• 4. Experience with irrigation products
• 5. Proficiency in Spanish
