Job Description
Responsibilities – Assists design staff in carrying out studies and designs typically pertaining to surface water resources, watershed characteristics, water quality, wetlands, fisheries and/or stream flow characteristics. Participates in field data collection activities pertaining to biological and hydrographic surveys and/or environmental monitoring of wetland or aquatic systems. Field duties may include, but not be limited to water quality sampling, aquatic vegetation assessment, habitat assessment, river transect surveys, discharge measurements, topographic surveys, and GPS inventories/surveys.  Assist in the analysis of field data and support other project related activities, including record keeping.
 
This position will also assist with routine office administrative tasks such as incoming/outgoing mail, responding to office inquiries, ordering supplies, maintaining office equipment, travel arrangements, and processing invoices. 
Job Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in biology, geology, environmental sciences, or a related field, with a working knowledge of life sciences or geomorphology or hydrological processes and principles.  Some experience desirable as a technician or aid in environmental field monitoring, including but not limited to riparian, aquatic and water quality sampling, engineering, earth, physical or natural science, soil conservation, or surveying.
 
Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record, with ability to operate a 2wd, 4wd vehicles as well as small survey boat. Willingness to work in the field for sometimes extended intervals and to travel within the Southwest geographic area is required.
